FINAL DESTINATION

There is one whopper of a finished object this month and it’s a garter stitch knitted blanket in RiverKnits Nene 4ply (Main colour is Silbermond and then it uses 12 x 20g mini skeins).

I love how this worked up, but it was quite a time commitment, coming in at about 65 hours of work. The pattern is due to be released shortly and RiverKnits will have kits available.  Alternatively, you could use nuggets of scrap yarn or any yarn advent calendar.

Knitted blanket in light grey with colourful stripe sin pinks, purples, blues and teals sits on a distressed chair with a blue linen backdrop.

DESIGNS IN PROGRESS

I have just started a new blanket design which is called Fall into Winter and makes use of the riche autumn and winter shades available in John Arbon Textiles Harvest Hues range.

I’m using the aran/worsted weight wool which is 65% Merino and 35% Zwartbles (200m/219yds per 100g).   I’m using Blue Spruce as the main colour, then Flax, Bracken, Russet and Pomegranate for the contrast colours.

EN ROUTE

I am still working on my Cloud Crop Top by Colleen Webster of Evolve Crochet which is available from an XS to a 5XL and I have linked to Lovecrafts and Etsy for the pattern.

The yarn I am using is from a 500g British Wool Cone from Wooly Knit in colourway Cinnamon Brown.  The 500g cone cost me just £16!

Printed pattern of a crocheted crop top, a cake of cinnamon brown yarn and a small piece of fabric crocheted in the yarn.

FEEDING THE HABIT

Olann yarn were from mystery bags that I bought.  I didn’t know what was going to arrive and I love what did!  3 x 425m per 100g sock yarn, 4 x 80m per 20g 100% merino and 1 x 80m per 20g sock yarn.

West Green Lofts yarn was a pressie from my friend Bec.  The colour way I called Kringle (425m per 100g)

Mr. & Mrs. Rabbit is a knitted sock design in waiting.  I bought 100g of their Deluxe High Twist Merino Sock Yarn (365m per 100g) in the colour way After the Party and 5 x mini skeins in the same yarn base.

Scheepjes Stonewash was bought for a new blanket design that may require lots of colours.  I wanted to try a new cotton base and know that the Stonewash yarn works up nicely at 130m per 50g.

three 100g skeins in a light grey and white, bright mustard with brown speckles and a chestnut brown colour. Five mini skeins to the right in fawn, peachy pink, dark rose pink, teal and liquorice brown.

Lots of 100g and mini skeins of yarn in light pinks, bright pinks and a hint of mustard.
10 different colours of Scheepjes Stonewash yarn in two rows with natural brown ball bands.
